hi
this is my first time posting on this blog!
anyway u ppl may or may not be wondering why i wasn't in school today.
i had surgery for my tooth done under GA (general anaethesia) that's why.
Notes to take:
-NUH nurses wear uniforms with colourful cartoon children saying get well soon
-the mushroom soup there doesn't taste nice
-just before you black out everthing goes all blurry and you see two of everything(at least i did)
-after the surgery before they take you to the ward they tak you to this unknown (to me) place with flowers on a green wall. a nice green.
-it's not nice to have a drip cos it hurts to put it into the vein (it's like an injection but with a thicker needle therefore more painful) then when it's on you're confined to your bed and if u wanna go toilet u need the nurse to come so she can hold your drip for you (unless u intend to push your hospital bed wherever you go which is even more inconvenient) and when it's finally taken out (YAY) it starts to hurt really bad and you can't do much with whichever hand they put the drip on (in this case it was my left hand. maybe it's always on the left hand but it's my 1st time being hospitalised though not even for a day cos if i were in hospital now i wouldn't be typing this)
-for christina's info they do NOT charge at u with a needle when they anaesthetize you they put this gas over your nose and mouth and tell you to take deep breaths and they also inject something into you
-if anyone is having surgery for the same reason as me then they stick this tube down your throat. you don't feel it cos they do it when you're asleep but when you wake up it's so painful you can't talk properly, it hurts to swallow your saliva...reminds me of when i had throat ulcers when i got hand foot and mouth disease last year
anyway that's all. and if you don't know by now this happened at NUH. Cheers!
count yourself lucky if you don't have to go through this but if you do just bear with it cos at least it's not a major operation.
